Beacon Gives Back to Friedreich's Ataxia Charities

We’re so proud to announce our final donation amount to the two organizations that provide research and support for Friedreich’s Ataxia (FA). This past year we were able to donate approximately $72,000 (USD) to the Friedreich’s Ataxia Research Alliance (FARA US) and the Friedreich’s Ataxia Research Association (fara Australia). The team behind Beacon® Impatiens are so thankful to all the amazing gardeners like you. Thank you for growing Beacon in your own outdoor shaded patios and gardens, we could not have done this without you!

The check we presented for the U.S.-based charity took place on November 4, 2023, before an end-of-year “rideATAXIA” fundraising event near Dallas, Texas. Our donation will be able help those affected with this degenerative neuro-muscular disorder, which affects one in 40,000 people worldwide. PanAmerican Seed Regional Account Manager Steven Engel presented the donation to Kyle Bryant, founder and director of the bicycle-ride fundraiser for CureFA.org.

“When Steven announced the number and held out the check, I saw jaws drop and there were definitely a few tears shed,” Bryant said. “With the donation and support from Beacon Impatiens we reached our fundraising goal for rideAtaxia Dallas. It was a perfect way to start-off the day, and a wonderful way to end the year!”

Beacon Impatiens continues to shine the light around the world helping to support organizations and foundations that need our assistance. We’re so happy to be able to contribute to and promote such wonderful causes. Thank you for being part of this give-back campaign. And stay tuned for an upcoming announcement for our next charity in 2024.
