3 Foliage Plants to Plant with Impatiens
Many gardeners plant impatiens on their own in areas that get ample shade, and that can make for a beautiful display of flowers. If you’re looking to transform that traditional garden bed, though, think about adding more foliage! The photos below show how three foliage plants gave one garden bed a modern upgrade.

1. Silver Falls Dichondra
Nothing adds a bit of pizzazz like a silver-leafed plant. Silver Falls Dichondra gives a trailing element to the garden, too. Plant it low and watch it spread, or place it in taller containers to see the spilling and cascading effect.

2. Kong Jr. Coleus
Kong Jr. Coleus comes in a variety of colors and patterns, and its mounded shape complements Beacon Impatiens nicely. This specific variety is Green Halo, which adds a chartreuse color to brighten up the shade.

3. ColorGrass Festina Festuca
Texture is an important element that many people neglect in their gardens. This plant takes your garden bed from ordinary to extraordinary. It also adds yet another shade of green to create depth and interest.
